One thing to keep in mind for all ocean activities in Maui:
Typically by noon the trade winds will blow in and the ocean can become very choppy and sometimes down right mean! Maui folks love the trades because without them the afternoon heat would be unbearable but ocean-goers will enjoy water activities in the mornings. Many first timers are surprised to find out how early the boats leave but this is exactly the reason. You will not usually find a boat willing to cross the channel to Molokini in the afternoon….so plan on going early in the morning for your diving and snorkeling and laying by the pool in the afternoons!
